Welcome to Mrs. Kathryn Hillyer's Website

Welcome to the home of the Kipling Art Stars!

All students, grades 1-5 have art twice a week for 30 minutes (grades 1-3) or 40 minutes (grades 4-5) each class. Selected work (rotated among students so everyone gets a turn) is on display in the halls of the school, so make sure to check out our very own gallery. Mrs. Hillyer's Photo Album

Some artwork I've "collected" with my camera.

The new addition to this museum has some very interesting sculptures outside it!

Tony Cragg, Turbo, 2001

Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, Kansas City, Missouri
Can you see how this is a landscape with a beach?

Stuart Davis, Bass Rocks No. 2, 1939
Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth, Texas

Davis' paintings look flat, like a collage. This close-up photo shows the texture of the paint.
Look at the expression on her face. Doesn't she look annoyed??

Tom Otterness, Mad Mom, 2001, Meier Gardens, Grand Rapids, Michigan

I really like this artist. She was a very interesting person. Whenever I go to Washington, I visit her portrait in the museum!

Judith Leyster, Self-Portrait, 1630, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC
