ART APPRECIATION – is a program to increase the awareness of all aspects of art. The presentations will be coordinated with the classroom curriculum. Volunteers discuss individual artists and show examples of the artists’ works in order to encourage interest in the visual arts and expand student’s knowledge of fine arts.
CULTURAL ARTS – is a part of the fall showcase and scheduled assemblies throughout the school year. Various programs and performers of interest to the student in conjunction with the Cultural Arts Council. Past assemblies have included plays, musical performances, and scientific demonstrations.
JUNIOR GREAT BOOKS – is a literature based reading program in which children grades 2-5 share ideas in a “book club” atmosphere.
LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER (LMC) – PTO volunteers assist the LMC staff with checking books in and out, shelving, general clerical duties, and assisting students when necessary.
PUBLISHING CENTER – “Kipling & Co. Publishing” is a PTO sponsored program for students’ creative writing works. Classroom teachers determine when a student work has reached the publishable level. Students create a book cover and the students’ works are bound together in a book format.
YEARBOOK – coordinates and develops of the annual Kipling yearbook. They also collect and/or take photographs to include in this annual book.
