You can still order a Celebration Book this year!
Celebration Books are a wonderful way to honor a special teacher, celebrate your child’s birthday, or congratulate your child on a great year. What a wonderful gift for your child’s elementary school!
What are Celebration Books?
Celebration Books is a PTO sponsored program that works with the Wilmot Library/Media Center (LMC) to obtain donations of new books. Our librarian, Sandy Palfrey, purchases books that she needs to fill a certain niche in the LMC. These books are “held out” until they are purchased through the Celebration Books program.
How do I donate a book?
Just fill out an order form found below or in the Celebration Books mailbox in the school office. The recommended donation is $18.00. After you complete the form, place the form and a check in the Celebration Books mailbox or in Mrs. Palfrey’s mailbox found in the school office.
How does the “honoree” learn about the purchase?
Your child will be asked to select a book from Mrs. Palfrey’s book stash during their library time close to the Celebration date you list on the order form. After a book is selected, a bookplate is placed in the book acknowledging the donation. The student is allowed to be the first to check out the book. In addition, Mrs. Brett will announce the donation on the intercom during morning announcements. If the book is purchased in honor of a teacher of a staff member, the honoree is notified of the donation.
