The Kipling Makerspace has many activities including crafts and activities listed below. Teachers may reserve Makerspace time in the LMC or check out activities.

BREAKOUT EDU
Players work collaboratively to solve a series of critical thinking puzzles in order to open a locked box. Each Breakout EDU starter kit can be used to play hundreds of games.

DRONES
There are Drones of 2 sizes in the Makerspace. 1 Large Akaso Quadcopter with transmitter controller. Akaso Drone is for indoor/outdoor flying. The Drone’s box includes 1 quadcopter, 1 transmitter controller, 1 Lithium battery installed in the quadcopter plus a box of extra Lithium batteries. Box also includes 2 extra blades, 1 screwdriver, and 1 USB charger for the Lithium battery. Transmitter requires 6 AA batteries that are not included with the quadcopter. Adult Supervision 14+. There are 4 small Blade Inductrix Quadcopters with transmitter controller. This is a ready to fly drone for beginning flyers. Inductrix is for indoor flying and for small spaces. Contents of the box include 1 yellow quadcopter, 1 Elite Lithium battery, 1 Elite USB charger, 1 transmitter controller, 1 video monitor and antenna, and 2 clamps to attach monitor to transmitter. Adult Supervision 14+

60 pc. Building set that include 4 base pcs., multicolor gears, pillars, axles and 1 crank. Includes a pamphlet to demonstrate possibilities for building structures. No batteries necessary 3+

GREEN SCIENCE KITS
Windmill Generator - Build a wind generator and learn about renewable energy. Contents of kit are included on the instruction pamphlet. Items included in kit but necessary to complete windmill generator include a clean plastic drink bottle with screw top and a small Phillips head screwdriver. 8+
Tin Can Robot - Turn a metal can into this walking, wobbling, bog eyed robot. Contents of kit are listed on the instruction pamphlet. Kit requires 1 AA battery, 1 small Phillips head screwdriver, and 1 used, cleaned tin can that are not included in the kit. 8+
Dynamo Torch - Turn a simple toy motor to become a generator which converts hand motion to electric energy and powers a lightbulb. Contents of kit are listed on the instruction pamphlet. 8+
Amphibian Rover - Recycle four plastic bottles to make its wheels and floats. Contents of kit are included on the instruction pamphlet. Additional items need to create rover include 2 AAA batteries, 1 small Phillips head screwdriver, and 4 clean soda bottles. 8+

INGENIOUS MACHINES
Make your own robot including a battery operated motor that uses a remote to control robot. Includes 237 plastic pieces, a manual with preset projects and remote. Requires 4 AA batteries to operate. Can be used in Makerspace and classroom. 6+

IQ KEY Perfect 1000
Modular toy system that involves assembling capsules and blocks of varying functions and is motorized. Booklet comes with 40 preset models. Kit can be used in Makerspace and classroom. 7+

Small and large K’nex kits that promotes gear exploration. Some instruction sheets include but students can create their own structures as well. For use in Makerspace. All ages

Can be used on Lego wall or at Makerspace table. Uses interlocking bricks to construct various objects. All ages

MAKEY MAKEY
Is an invention kit for kids. You can use it to turn everyday objects into keys for your computer. 7+

MARBLE RUN
Create a roller coaster for marbles using see-through plastic tubes and discs. Good for engineering and problem solving. Promotes creativity by changing slope, curves, and destination for marbles. Kit includes 85 plastic pieces to create marble run and 15 marbles. To be used in Makerspace. 4+

ORIGAMI PAPER
Mega pack of Origami paper for multiple people to sit and create Origami folding projects. Book has 5 pages of basic folds, examples of websites that provide easy online projects, and 2 examples of projects. Can be used at Makerspace Table. All ages

OSMO GAME SYSTEM
Hands on Play using Ipad. Need 1 Ipad, game base, and camera reflector. Games choices include Tangram, Numbers, Masterpiece, Words, Coding and Pizza. 4+

SNAP CIRCUITS
750 pc. Kit building blocks with snaps to create different electrical and electronic circuits. The kit includes 4 manuals of approximately 700 of projects. Fifth manual pertains to downloadable software to show electrical signals in the signals like and engineer would see using oscilloscope and spectrum analyzers. Requires 4 AA batteries. Can be used in makerspace or checked out to classroom. 8+

Kit includes Iron (with electrical plug), tips, and soldering wire. Also included is a Soldering is Easy guide with soldering instructions. 8+
