If your child will not be in school, please report the absence to the South Park health office by phone, email, or through the Paperless PTO app before 9:00 am. If you do not contact our school nurse by this time, she will contact you at home or at work to ascertain your child’s whereabouts. Children must be diarrhea, fever, and vomit-free for 24 hours before returning to school.
Family vacations during school days are discouraged; however, if your child must miss school due to a vacation, parents/guardians are asked to contact the South Park health aide a few days in advance. Please know that teachers may not always be able to create individual lessons or homework before pre-arranged absences.
We would like to remind families they are still required to report any potential COVID symptoms to our building nurse and await guidance prior to sending their children to school. If your child is presenting with COVID symptoms please administer a covid test and submit test results via our website. Here is the link to submit your child's home test results (please select South Park from the drop-down menu).
Even if your child is negative for COVID they need to be diarrhea, fever, and vomit-free for 24 hours WITHOUT medication and in general are feeling well enough to attend the whole school day.
Below is the current list of COVID symptoms:
- Moderate to severe persistent headache
- Shortness of breath
- Congestion or runny nose
- Sore Throat
- Loss of Taste
- Loss of Smell
