The National Weather Service (NWS) will be the primary source used in determining wind-chill warnings and advisories.
Wind Chill Watch: SCHOOL OPENConditions are favorable for wind chill temperatures to meet or exceed local wind chill warning criteria in the next 24 to 72 hours. Wind chill temperatures may reach or exceed -25 degrees.
These can be issued by the National Weather Service days in advance, so please pay attention to the weather to ensure your child is dressed appropriately for school!
Wind Chill Advisory: SCHOOL OPENDangerous wind chills of 15 to 24 below zero
During school off-campus activities will be suspended, outdoor activities will be suspended, students can keep outerwear with them, scheduled transports between buildings will be assessed, and school administrators are given authority to keep students in the building in the event of a fire alarm. After school extracurricular activities may be suspended if conditions persist.
