Whether your family this year are escape, reality, or metaphorical travellers, I wish you a restful and restorative break filled with peace, joy, and gratitude as we welcome a new year. For my part, I’m so grateful that you chose District 109 as your home and that we spent 2024 with you as I look forward to all that 2025 will bring.

Wishing Your Family a Wonderful Break

Upcoming Screening of "Chasing Childhood"

We are excited to announce that District 109 will host a free screening of Chasing Childhood on Tuesday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Caruso Middle School auditorium. This documentary aligns with our ongoing discussions throughout the school year about Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation.

Have you read "The Anxious Generation?"

We have been so inspired by the conversations that have taken place around this topic that District 109 has donated copies to the Deerfield Public Library to keep the conversation going. We've also set up mini-libraries for our Riverwoods families who attend Caruso, South Park, and Wilmot. Just scan the QR code in the front lobby to borrow, and return it when you're done. Happy reading, 109!
