No Fooling! Returning Student Registration for 2026-2027 opens Wednesday, April 1, 2026!

New Student Registration

We look forward to welcoming new students to District 109 schools! We try to make the online registration process as easy as possible, but if you have questions, please email Registrar Rosa Castillo.

Register: As Easy as 1-2-3!

Follow the three-step registration process whether you are a current parent in District 109 or if this is your first time registering a child. Please check the address finder to ensure you are eligible to register; we cannot consider requests for enrollment from out-of-district residents. You must have the required documentation to complete your registration.

Step 1: Complete Online Application for Each Child

New to District 109?

Start by completing the New Guardian Login Request in Skyward. Be sure to choose the correct school year. You'll receive an email from Skyward with instructions to complete the new student online registration application. Once you've finished the application, don't forget to hit submit to complete the process.

Current District 109 Parent?

Log into Skyward using your Family Access login ID and password. Choose "New Student Enrollment" from the drop-down menu (click on the down arrow next to the home icon in the upper left corner).

Step 2: Upload Four Required Documents

The following documents are required:

Your child's original birth certificate
One of the following document that provides proof of residency:
- Current Property Tax Bill
- Title or Warranty Deed
- Lease signed by the lessee and the lessor, and proof of payment
Two of the following documents that show your name and current address:
- Driver's License or State ID
- License plate registration
- Voter Registration
- Auto insurance card/statement
- Gas, Electric, Water, or Waste Removal dated within the past three (3) months (no cable, wifi, or phone bills)

We also request a copy of the parenting agreement for divorced families.

Step 3: Check Your Email

Re-Enrolling a Student in DPS 109?

If you are a returning family who is re-enrolling your student (you have been in the district before and are now returning) please email Registrar Rosa Castillo.

Returning Student Registration

New This Year: Registration must be completed in order to access your child’s class schedule when it becomes available in August.

All families with current District 109 students returning for the 2026–2027 school year are required to complete registration through Family Access (Skyward) beginning Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Complete Registration

Beginning April 1, log into Family Access to:

Complete the 2026-2027 Registration in Family Access
Verify and update student and family information
Review and acknowledge the Student/Parent-Guardian Handbook
Pay 2026–2027 school fees (available after Board approval in late May 2026)

Registration in Family Access

Registration combines several required annual updates into one step.

Select the “2026–2027 Registration” tile in Family Access to:

Review student, contact, and emergency information
Confirm your home address
Review publication permissions and opt-out procedures
Acknowledge the Student/Parent-Guardian Handbook
Provide or deny permission to administer medication
(8th grade only) Approve information sharing with Deerfield High School

If updates are needed for information that cannot be edited in Family Access, please contact the District at 847-945-1844.

School Fees

Fees for the 2026–2027 school year will be posted in Family Access following Board of Education approval, anticipated in late May 2026.

Once posted, families will be able to view and pay fees in Family Access
Pay by July 1, 2026 to receive a $25 early payment discount
Activity and athletic fees will be assessed later in the year

Residency for Current District 109 Students

To help keep our records accurate, District 109 now uses the CLEAR public database to verify student residency for currently enrolled students.

Here’s what you need to know:

A few times each year, the District will use CLEAR to confirm that students continue to reside within the District 109 boundaries.
CLEAR uses publicly available information—like property and utility records—to automatically verify your address.
If your address is verified, you won’t need to take any action. You’ll receive a confirmation email.
If your address can’t be verified, our Registration Office will contact you with simple next steps to manually confirm your residency.

This is separate from the annual re-registration process (formerly known as InfoCheck) and does not apply to new student registration and residency verification.

This updated process helps ensure that all enrolled students reside within District 109 and reduces the amount of paperwork families need to complete.
