The Wilmot Word: 10-18-19

Kindness Corner
#wilmotkindnessrocks This was an awesome week at Wilmot. Students and staff loved engaging in activities throughout the week to support our first ever Leader in Me spirit week. Throughout the week many of our student and staff leaders organized and facilitated activities to support the first four Leader in Me habits, including: Begin with the end in mind, Think win-win and Put first things first. On Tuesday, we joined together as a school by wearing our Wilmot colors and spirit wear. Beginning with the end in mind, our staff organized a special color day on Wednesday. Each grade wore an assigned color and had their picture taken as a grade level, for a special project. Soon, students and staff will understand the benefits of planning ahead (beginning with the end in mind) when we unveil a special photograph that demonstrates what can happen when we merge individual grades into one school community! The highlight of the week was our all-school assembly on Wednesday. This was developed and run by student leaders. Students even shared a special parody they created to teach the first three habits. Click here to see their wonderful Leader in Me presentation.

Parent Conferences (2nd posting)
Mark your calendars - We will hold our annual parent-teacher conferences on Monday, November 25 in the evening and all day on Tuesday, November 26. All elementary schools will have parents sign up for a conference through Family Access. You may start signing up for parent-teacher conferences on Monday, October 21 at 5:30 pm. To do this, login to Family Access and follow these simple steps:
At the Homepage, click on Teacher Conferences on the left-hand side of the page.
Choose your child’s name from the drop-down scheduler menu or you can view all of the children attending Wilmot at one time.
Next to each child’s name, choose “All Conferences.”
Select a time to view the teacher’s availability.
Select the time you want for your conference.
Click save
If you need to reschedule, click the View Scheduled Times tab and change the status to Unschedule. Then, reschedule for a time slot that meets your needs.

If you want to see what the conference scheduler looks like, check out this one minute video.

It is best practice to hold one parent conference per child, to ensure that both parents receive the same information regarding their child’s strengths and needs. Therefore, I ask that parents sign up for one joint conference per student. If this is a concern, please reach out to me directly. We look forward to seeing all of our parents during conferences.
